Dr. Maria do Céu Costa is a Portuguese Delegate at Emerging Risks European Network (EREN) of the the European European Food Safety Authority and a Professor of Bromatology at the School of Health Sciences and Technologies at Lusófona University. She has designed a Project for Innovative Management and got a 1.2 M€ grant from the National Strategic Reference Framework to coordinate the successful implementation of Quality Management Systems. As a university teacher, she has been responsible for more than 15 years for several programs and courses in organic and analytical chemistry, natural products, chemical risks, bromatology, and applied research. Maria Costa produced numerous opinions on the industrial property of medicines, having already served as witnesses, including by production of laboratory proof, for several patent litigation cases in Commercial and Arbitral Courts, since 2004. She has also taken care of the role of assessor expert for several actions in Court by drafting briefs, conducting and defending depositions, and working with expert witnesses for trials in diverse medicinal and technological areas.
